VALENTINE BAGS FILL - FEBRUARY 7

It is time for our annual Seniors Valentine project. We will be using large lunch bags vs. boxes.

Each scout/parent/sibling participating should bring the following items for one bag:
1 can of tuna
1 individual fruit cup or small can of fruit
1 can of soup
1 lunch size individual bag of chips, pretzels or snack chips
1 small box of chocolates

We have a goal of 50 bags, so if possible please bring the above items for two bags.

The troop will provide individual tea bags, coffee bags, lunch bags and cards.
Community service credit will be given to all scouts that bring all of the requested items for one bag. Any questions contact Sue Grosskoph.

CAMP AWANA - FEBRUARY 10-12 - SIGNUP DEADLINE IS JANUARY 27

In the winter, they have a sledding hill, toboggan slide, and tube run. They also have a snow making system at these locations so as long as it’s cold there is always snow. They have a lake that is available for broom ball and ice skating.

On top of all these other activities, Camp also has a game room with ping pong, pool, foosball and air hockey tables! A gymnasium for basketball or other games. Campers have an endless variety of activities to choose from!

Meals are surved in their cafeteria.

Leave Friday, February 10 at 6:00 p.m.
Return Sunday, February 12 at 1:00 p.m.

Cost $87.00 for scouts and adults.

Signup online or at a Troop Meeting. Remember to turn in a permission slip.

Account Balances and Troop Dues

Up to date scout balances have been posted on the website (under files) and will be available in the folders next week. The $60 troop dues will be assessed on 1/31. Please take a moment to check your account balance and submit any needed funds to stay in the black by 1/31!!!- Thanks!

2012 COMMEMORATIVE EAGLE PATCH

On August 21, 1912 Arthur R. Eldred of New York became the first Scout to earn the rank of Eagle. A century later, the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) has high-flying plans to celebrate 100 years of Eagle Scouts. One of the ways is for all scouts who earn the Eagle award during 2012 will have the option to receive a special commemorative rank patch. See the attachement for a look at the patch.

NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING - JUNE 10-16

National Youth Leadership Training is a seven-day, six-night outdoor experience for youth leaders in support of the unit leader’s responsibility for the training of youth leaders. The Bay-Lakes Council, using the nationally approved course syllabus and under the leadership of quality volunteers, conducts the Conference. The Conference will be held June 10th -16th at Camp Twin Lakes. See the link for more information and application form.
